In 2018 Scott was selected to be the Official Oil Pastel Artist for Savior-Faire / Sennelier, maker of the world's finest oil pastels. He is the first and only artist to hold that title.
1n 2019 Scott was selected as an instructor at the prestigious Scottsdale Artists School. He is their first and only oil pastel instructor.

about his life
Scott was raised in Anchorage, Alaska and moved to Arizona in 2003. His "wife for life" Margie and their Australian cattle dogs Flash! and Buddy live a simple, abundant life and he considers himself "the luckiest man in the universe".
Many of Scott's compositions could best be described as “organic abstract” while others lean heavily towards photo realism. They are influenced by his Alaskan roots and current Southwest home. He loves working with oil pastels. Scott says "oil pastels are an extremely versatile and dynamic medium that allows a wide range of expressions that standard oil and acrylic paint could only wish for ".
